Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 14, 2026
This policy describes what vivora collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. We write it in plain language because you should actually be able to read it.
What we collect
Account details. When you sign up we collect your name, email, password (stored hashed), and optional phone number. To personalize plans we also collect household size, dietary needs and restrictions, weekly budget, cooking-time preferences, grocery shopping day, schedule, and your ZIP code for local grocery pricing.
Waitlist. If you join the waitlist on tryvivoraapp.com before you have an account, we collect your email and optional name.
Meal activity. Plans you generate, swaps, ratings, pantry items, grocery lists, favorites, and recipes you upload or save.
Feedback you send. Text, screenshots, and screen recordings / videos (including audio when your device captures it). You choose what to attach.
Shared recipes. If you share a recipe to the community library, other signed-in vivora users can see it. Recipe share links can be opened by anyone with the link. We show your first name on a link only if you turn that on.
Technical info. App version, device and browser type, time zone, and error reports (status codes, recent screens, crash details — not the text you typed into forms). We use this to keep the app running and fix bugs.
How we use it
- Build weekly meal plans, grocery lists, and recommendations tailored to your household.
- Improve vivora from ratings, swaps, and feedback. Recordings and error reports may be processed with AI tools to transcribe audio, sort reports, and suggest fixes.
- Send service emails (account verification, password reset, issue-fixed notices, and account deletion confirmation).
- Operate and secure the service. We do not sell your data and we do not run third-party ads.
Our website
On tryvivoraapp.com we use Google Analytics to count visits and see which links bring people to the site, such as an Instagram post. It uses cookies and collects general information like browser, device type, approximate location (city level) and the pages viewed. We don't use it for advertising. You can block it with your browser's privacy settings or an ad blocker.
Service providers
We use trusted companies to run vivora. Each receives only what they need for their role:
- Anthropic (Claude) — meal plans, recipes, and other AI features.
- OpenAI — some recipe images and fallback AI.
- Groq — transcription of feedback videos (OpenAI as fallback).
- Spoonacular — recipe and ingredient reference data.
- Kroger — store and product lookups for local pricing where enabled.
- Xano — database and application backend (United States).
- Google Firebase / Google Cloud — app hosting, feedback file and video storage, and transcription jobs.
- Google Analytics — visit counts on our website.
- Resend — transactional email.
- Cursor — AI coding tools that read anonymized problem reports to propose fixes (no access to your password).
- GitHub — private source-code hosting for the vivora app.
Retention
Feedback videos. Raw video files are scheduled for deletion about 7 days after upload once the related report is closed or approved, and are always removed within 30 days at most. Transcripts and key frames stay with the report so we can fix issues.
Account data. Kept while your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize personal data as described below.
Logs. Server event logs (including error reports, AI call records, and upload diagnostics) and email delivery queue metadata are kept only as long as we need them to run vivora and fix problems, and we are setting up automatic deletion after 90 days. We do not keep them indefinitely. When you delete your account, we remove your user id from remaining logs and keep only a minimal record that an account was deleted.
Your choices
- Update preferences anytime in the app.
- Request access, correction, or deletion by emailing info@tryvivoraapp.com.
- Delete your account by emailing info@tryvivoraapp.com (in-app deletion is coming soon). Tell us whether community recipes you shared should stay up anonymously or be removed.
- To remove a recipe you shared to the community library, email info@tryvivoraapp.com.
- Opt out of non-essential email by replying to any marketing-style message or contacting us.
- Waitlist removal: email us from the same address you used to join.
Location
Your ZIP code helps us estimate grocery prices and regional features (for example store availability). We do not track your precise GPS location for meal planning.
Children
vivora is not for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
International users
vivora is operated from the United States. If you use vivora from outside the US (for example the EU or UK), your data is processed in the US. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, delete, port, or object to certain processing — email info@tryvivoraapp.com and we will respond.
US state privacy rights
Residents of states such as California may have additional rights to know, delete, or correct personal information. To make a request, email info@tryvivoraapp.com with the address on your account. We will verify you before acting.
Security
Traffic is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). Access to production systems is limited to people who need it. Feedback uploads and share links use signed, time-limited URLs where applicable.
Changes
We will update this page when practices change in a meaningful way and change the date above.
